It has been designed by Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi, using the latest scientific research on biomechanics, kinesiology, psychology and mixed them with over 50 years of martial arts experience to create a thoroughly modern martial art that’s safe and practical .

    Learn Self Defence Safely

    Choi Kwang Do will teach you effective self defence skills while improving your health. In order to ensure your safety as a Choi Kwang Do student, the Choi Kwang Do syllabus has eliminated competition fighting. Instead our students work with partners and instructors to develop their self defence skills through defence drills, designed to teach you practical self defence techniques, without injuring yourself. After all, what is the point of learning self defence if the classes can leave you injured?


    An Alternative to Boring Gym Sessions

    Choi Kwang Do classes offer you an excellent alternative to boring gym sessions. Each lesson is taught by a FULLY QUALIFIED and insured Instructor who will utilize many different drills and techniques to give you an aerobic and anaerobic workout. Choi Kwang Do techniques utilize full body sequential motion that not only ensures your entire body gets a workout, but also allows you to deliver maximum power in each and ever technique should you need to defend yourself.


    Stress Busting

    Our classes are also and excellent way to deal with the stresses of a modern lifestyle. Our shield and mitt drills let you punch and kick away the stresses of the day in a safe and satisfying manner. Also, every class includes a section using yoga based stretches that not only improve your flexibility but are also very relaxing. Studies show that too much stress can lead to many degenerative diseases prevelant in the modern lifestyle and can have serious effects on your health. Choi Kwang Do classes are excellent at relieving stress leaving you feel relaxed and energized.
